Bio:
Willie signed for Thistle from Clydebank Juniors in 1937, the Jags beating several clubs including Portsmouth for his signiture.The promising youngster secured himself in the 1st team for season 1938-39 scoring 10 goals in 19 league games.

He was critically injured (aged 25) when his home was bombed during the Clydebank Blitz at Livingstone Street, Clydebank, he later died at Blawrthill Hospital, Knightswood.He is buried in a mass grave at Dalnottar Cemetery.
The Daily Record reported his death 5 days later due to reporting restrictions.
