BLAIR, John
born. 25.08.1898, Ardrossan 
Forward. He signed for Partick Thistle from Ayrshire Junior side Saltcoats Victoria, making his debut in a 2-0 Victory over Ayr United on Valentine’s Day 1920. His most important moment in a Thistle jersey came when he scored the only goal in the 1921 Scottish Cup Final over Rangers at Celtic Park. He left Firhill in 1925 and returned to Saltcoats Victoria, where his consistent good form brought him to the attention of the Scotland Junior selectors. He earned four Caps for Junior Scotland before a brief spell at 2nd Division Morton (1929-30), he then returned to the Vics.
