CAMPBELL, Sam 1945-47

CAMPBELL, Samuel C
born ?

Outside-Right Campbell signed for Thistle from Wishaw in November 1945, it is thought he had previously been on the books of Queen of the South before the outbreak of war. He made his debut immediately helping the Jags to a fine 5-1 victory over Hamilton Accies at Firhill, with his first goal coming on New Year's day in a 2-1 win over Clyde. After a good start to his Firhill career his form dipped and after only 17 top team appearances he was given a free transfer. In June 1947 he signed for Division C outfit Edinburgh City, where he remained for a season before moving to East Stirling for season 1948-49.
