Popular speedy outside-left who was signed from Keith in December 1933. He signed for Thistle when he was studying in Glasgow to become a Physical Education teacher. Born in Portsoy he was educated at Aberdeen University where he starred for the uni football team, he then played for Elgin Thistle before moving to Buckie Thistle in 1931.He made his Scottish League debut for Thistle in 2-0 defeat at Rugby Park. His first goals came in 4-0 victory over Aberdeen at Firhill. The following season he helped the Jags life the Glasgow Cup and the Glasgow Charity Cup, with him scoring in a 2-1 victory over Queen’s Park at the national stadium. He left Firhill for Raith Rovers but failed to play a single game before a move to Dundee United then in the 2nd Division. At the age of 26 he returned to the Highland League and played with Elgin City and Buckie Thistle. He returned to Firhill shortly before his death to watch his local team Deveronvale take on Thistle in the Scottish Cup in 2001.
