Forward, who signed for Partick Thistle in November 1950 from Benburb Juniors. He broke into the first team a year later where he made his debut at Firhill against Striling Albion helping the Jags to a 2-1 win in front of 12,000 fans. He held his place in the first team playing 11 out of the following dozen games, his solitary Thistle goal came at Firhill in a 5-2 romp over Airdrieonians. He then returned to the 2nd eleven helping them to a 3rd place finish in the reserve league (south-west section). He was surprisingly released by Thistle in April 1953, the following 2 seasons he plied his trade in the English division 3 south with Northampton Town and Exeter City. Season 1955-56 saw him return to Scotland where he played for Dundee, he then moved to Wrexham for 3 seasons playing over 100 top team games, netting 27 league goals. He then had seasons with Rochdale and Chester before returning to Wrexham, his last playing days were spent at Colwyn Bay. He moved into coaching and served Aldershot and Colchester United in the 1970’s.
