CAMERON, Martin

Bustling old fashioned forward who joined Thistle on loan from Bristol Rovers in 2002. Martin started his career at 3rd Division Alloa Athletic joining the wasps in 1997 from Craigmilar Thistle. His stayed at Recreation park until 2000 helping Alloa into the 1st Division banging in 39 goals in 87 league games and landing himself 3 young player of the month awards (August 1999, November 1999 and February 2000). He was rumoured to have been watched by many full time sides both sides of the border. He got his wish for full time football when Bristol Rovers had a offer accepted for him, but he struggled to make a impact for the FL division 3 side scoring 6 goals in 39 league games. His loan spell at Thistle saw him play 8 games scoring once vs. Clyde and helping the Jags win the 1st Division. He moved back to Scotland that summer signing for 1st Divison St Mirren, he immediately found his goal scoring form including a hat-trick vs. Falkirk in October 2002, he finished the season with 12 goals. He surprisingly choose to sign for 3rd Division Gretna over current club St Mirren in the summer of 2003. He continued where he left off for Gretna banging in 17 goals in 26 appearances before a serious injury kept him out the game for some time. He has a loan spell in the Republic of Ireland with Shamrock Rovers in February 2005, but was released by Gretna as they won the 3rd Division. 2005-06 was his last in senior football playing for 2nd Divison Forfar Athletic, unfortunately he never really recovered from the serious injury he suffered in 2004. He signed for east of Scotland Penicuk Athletic, scoring 15 goals in his first season with them in 2006/07. g
