CHAPLAIN, Scott

Chaplain began his career in the Rangers youth set-up before moving on to Ayr United in 2000. He made 91 starts and scored 11 goals in his five seasons at Somerset Park before being released he played as a trialist for Thistle in July 2005 but was allowed to leave firhill and signed for 3rd Division Albion Rovers. His biggest success for Albion Rovers came in the 2006–07 season when he scored 18 league goals from midfield and won the SPFA's player of the year award for the third division. At the end of that season, he was signed by Thistle manager Ian McCall. Chaplin proved to be a good signing in his first season but he struggled to maintain his good form in his second season and was released and signed for Dumbarton.
His brother Steven played for East Kilbride Thistle.
